The use of an Altar Stone has been central in ceremony and ritual since the dawn of humanity, and remains an important part of modern ritual and ceremony in many world religions. It is used for burning incense and/or in conjunction with other items; herbs, talismans, Sacred Host, chalice, etc. Almost by definition, An Altar Stone should be consecrated before being used for ritual or ceremony.

Sturdy, hand carved from black soapstone, engraved and polished. The Altar burner is a 6 X 3 inch slab mounted on a 1 1/2 inch tall half circle, and weighs more than a pound. The burner will hold 2 incense sticks and several incense cones.
